By using Fur Forecast you accept these terms. They are deliberately short and plain; if anything here is unclear, ask us.

Who operates Fur Forecast

Fur Forecast is an independent publisher operating furforecast.com. We are not a veterinary practice, an insurance company, an insurance broker, or a licensed financial adviser, and nothing here creates a professional relationship of any of those kinds.

What our numbers are

Every figure on this site — premiums, portions, first-year, annual and lifetime costs — is a modeled estimate produced for planning and comparison. Estimates are generated from published breed, veterinary and market data using the models described on how we estimate. They are not quotes, not bills, and not a prediction of what you will actually pay.

What our numbers are not

• Not veterinary advice. Feeding figures use the standard RER/MER energy model and are a starting point. Individual animals vary with metabolism, health and medication. Confirm any plan with a licensed veterinarian — especially for puppies, kittens, seniors, pregnant animals, and any weight-loss plan.
• Not an insurance quote. Real premiums depend on your exact address, your pet's history, and the insurer's own underwriting. Read the actual policy — particularly its exclusions, waiting periods and treatment of pre-existing conditions — before you buy.
• Not financial advice. Cost projections are planning ranges. Your circumstances are not the model's.

Acceptable use

Use the site for your own planning, and link to it freely. Do not scrape it at a rate that degrades it for others, republish the breed dataset wholesale, or present our estimates as your own, as a quote, or as veterinary guidance.

Advertising and affiliate links

Fur Forecast is reader-supported through labelled ads and affiliate links, and may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never change a calculated figure or a ranking — see editorial standards for exactly what they do and do not affect.

Corrections and support

We would rather be corrected than be wrong. Email hello@furforecast.com with the page and what looks off. We aim to acknowledge within five business days, and we prioritise anything where a published number could lead someone to underfeed or overfeed an animal. Corrections from veterinarians, breeders and insurance professionals are especially welcome.

Availability and liability

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any estimate is accurate for your situation. To the fullest extent the law allows, Fur Forecast is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on these estimates. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes

We update these terms when the product changes materially, and the “last reviewed” date on this page moves when we do.
